Andre Dahlman is a documentary filmmaker and District native. After studying at the University of Toronto, Andre moved to New Zealand to direct his first film, the award-winning documentary Southern Faces (2004). Andre returned to Washington in 2005 where he works as a partner at Dahlman/Cook. Andre was a Docs in Progress Flaherty Fellow (2009), traveled to Tajikistan as part of the US State Department American Documentary Showcase (2011), and co produced The Seneca Rocks Museum (2012) – an online museum dedicated to documenting the history of Seneca Rocks West Virgina. Andre is currently in post production on his third documentary feature Murphy’s Gambit
Ian Cook is a Washington, DC-based cinematographer and documentary filmmaker. He has photographed a range of documentary and narrative features, broadcast television programs, music videos and short films. His recent projects include the HBO’s Academy Award nominated documentary Last Truck: The Closing of GM Plant, the award-winning short film Corner Plot, and the forthcoming documentary feature Murphy’s Gambit: A Chess Hustler’s Story.
